Have to know how to paint to use this

First, if you do not properly prep the surface it will not work or look really bad. Chrome's shiny look comes from the surface being near perfect. for this paint to do it's job the surface must be perfectly smooth and PRIMED with the right primer. Over old paint you have to use the adhesion promoter, over metal you gotta use the right primer. THEn you need to prep the primer to be smooth and perfect with some 600 grit sandpaper, then tack cloth, and then spray the paint. After that it takes at least 2 hours to dry, not the 1 hour stated on the can. This stuff needs 2 coats to have any durability and if you really want to clearcoat it you have to wait a few days to clear it. Note: putting a clear on it will make it less "chrome"ish. and more a polished aluminum look. If you take your time and do it right, you can get it looking really good. Being non catalyzed enamel it's not durable as the real stuff and takes a really really long time to harden. If you are goin g to use this stuff on your car or bike give it nearly 3 months to harden completely before any waxing or buffing.

Not as shiny as the cap, but really not bad for a spray can. The finish is more like a shiny alloy, but not too bad.

Looks like chrome but...

This paint is really impressive in that it looks pretty darn close to chrome. I used it on a piece of exterior automotive trim. My only complaint is that while the paint looks great, it is easily tarnished, or marred by water, the elements, etc. I still recommend this product but perhaps the formula could be improved!
